For a use of this Saying in the Synoptics see Mark 4:11-12.  In this instance it is worth noting that the matter of esoteric versus exoteric is a watershed between the East and West.  What the later authors of the Synoptics received was esoteric teaching such as the Mystical Sayings – but for reasons known to the early church in the West only they changed the ‘textus receptus’.
