The disciples continue to look forward to the Kingdom and Yesu persists that they must understand the gaining of perfection and immortality is neither a future or time-bound eschatological ‘event’ but is a current possibility - a realised eschatology. There is no ‘end of the world’ to establish the Kingdom, it is something we have to bring about in ourselves. See also Sayings 18 and 112.
