The author loans from the mystery religions and the other Wisdom work Song of Songs, and introduces here another mystical Erotic play (Eros = desire love, as opposed to Philia which is affiliation or familial love, Agape which is unconditional positive regard love, etc.). The author pitches king Solomon, the character of the book, to Erotic desire for Wisdom. This is quite different to the erotic play between the feminine human soul and the male divine Spirit which Song of Songs introduced to this body of literature. However, the principle remains the same B the seeker years and desires and is totally given to the acquisition of the prize.
