With the allegorical use of the reference to us all being kings, the author has already broken much of that spell which was cast upon his/her society, now the author establishes that we are all alike in our human condition, and all of us can walk in the Way s/he is about to describe.  This does away with the philosophy of the day which taught that people of noble and free birth can entertain aspirations to holiness and Wisdom..
