Kamadhuk is the milch cow of desires (yajna in fact) in the mythology of the churning of the ocean, while Vasuki is the snake which was used to turn the mountain Meru to start the churning process in the allegory -- the snake is also symbol of the divine energy of Kundalini of which Cupid is an allegorical representation.  Lust is depicted as a divine gift.
