Again the issue of whether one should perform any action at all (in fear of karma) is spoken to.  Of course, says the Lord, you must be very active, you must work hard, only do not seek the fruits of the actions.  Yesu said it similarly on the topic of devotional Service.  He said that if you perform a Service duty and enjoy its fruits (by taking the honour for it), then you have had your reward.  To gain rewards which are supernatural and soul-changing and spirit-nurturing, you must not allow the ego to take the reward from you.  Still the ego, take no taste of the fruit of action, and the fruits will feed your spirit.  That is what the fruit is fore and it makes long lasting inroads, but the ego, it eats without stopping or getting full.
