The concept of ‘Self’ is the central axiom of Hinduism, it is a human understanding of the One, Absolute God.  We therefore speak of self (me) being created in the image of Self (God).  That Holy Spirit which pervades all is thus also our essence.  Almost throughout this edition the Sanskrit word for Self has been translated as Spirit.
