As eating, cleaning and other duties are obligatory dharma, so too is the person who eats, cleans and cares only for him/herself a thief because the mere ability to be able to perform one’s obligatory duties and eat one’s food is a gift from God.  While one person eats more in a day than is needed to feed the hungry people outside the door, or takes a large an overly luxurious house while outside others are sleeping in the rain, enlightenment and truth is still far away.
