Here Krishna is called Hrishikesa which means Lord of the senses and mind.  Arjuna is called Dhananjaya which means conqueror of wealth.  In this sense Arjuna preceded St. Thomas and perhaps the legendary Robin Hood (with the exception that Robin Hood stole money), in that he put the stagnant wealth of landlords and rulers to work for public welfare.
