The theology of Actions or Karma Yoga is extensively expounded in the Bhagavad Gita; The concept of Non-Action (action without desires) is a main theme of the Tao Teh Ching.  Sayings 10, 13, 16 and 80 guide us to understand that the fire which devours the desirous soul is a series of passions – one close to Yesu however realises that the fire which he brings (karma) burs away the passions so that the devotee is self-emptied, only to be filled with the Fire of the true Passion.
