The devotional addendum contains the Divine Liturgy that, under the new rule, we divide into the Common Liturgy and the Great Mystery.
An additional set of the most commonly used and loved prayers and meditations used in the church are added in the last section.
The date of origin of the Divine Liturgy in its current form is uncertain. Large portions of the Divine Liturgy are directly related to Scriptural phrases. These phrases date to around late in the first century to early second centuries. The Divine Liturgy however draws us back in time, far beyond the first century, as devotees recall the memory of fathers of the Tradition who partook in the Great Mystery five thousand years ago.
